Mike Saunders

Mike Saunders joined WMCAT in 2014 as video production teaching artist and now works as program manager of arts + tech. He is a producer on three award-winning films with Sob Noisse – “Coyote,” “Ape” and “Buzzard,” which premiered at the 2014 South By Southwest Film Festival and was featured at the New Directors/New Films festival in New York City. Mike is also co-founder of Plastic Son Productions, through which he has worked with nonprofits to produce documentaries. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Grand Valley State University and completed the Lexia program at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. A lover of music, particularly those tunes he can find on vinyl, Mike is co-founder of the Grand Rapids Soul Club and a popular DJ. He currently serves on the board of directors for Film and Media Alliance of West Michigan.
