Teen Program Enrollment

Enrollment for Spring 2020 is now open!

All Grand Rapids Public high school students are eligible to register for our tuition-free afterschool studio experiences where we encourage creative expression, connect you to teens with similar interests, and support you through your high school journey. Learn more about our studios here.

Students should complete an application (available for download below) and bring it with them to one of our two enrollment events at WMCAT:

  • January 8 – 3:30pm – 5:00pm
  • January 15 – 11:30am – 1:00pm

Come see our studios, learn about our programs and submit or pick up an application. Placement is made on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait too long! Staff will contact you to confirm your studio choice or place you on a waiting list if the class is full. Make sure your contact info is accurate.

Studios begin on Monday, January 27, 2020.

Have more questions? See frequently asked questions or contact our staff at teenprograms@wmcat.org or 616-454-7004.

Students who attend an enrollment information session will have their applications processed and considered first.

Each Information Session provides an opportunity to think through which class may be the best fit for you, a chance to sign-up for the program, and next steps. We look forward to meeting you!

Eligibility for the Adult Career Training Program is now as follows:

Have a high school diploma or GED
No felony record (this is a requirement of places of employment for which we are training our students to work)
Experiencing unemployment or underemployment*
Live in Kent County

*Working part-time, multiple part-time jobs, or in a job where potential and skills are not fully utilized.

At WMCAT, we believe in designing programs that are rooted in the needs of people in the community. We recognize that the eligibility requirements for our tuition-free Adult Career Training Program can both ensure we are available to those with the highest need, and at the same time cause us to miss others who could benefit from this opportunity.
