In the video production studio, teen artists discover the fundamental elements of storytelling, acting, camera technique and sound design to bring a narrative to life. Using industry standard software and equipment, students team up to write and produce comedy sketches and short films.

Allayah (Layah) Lauchie (she/her) joined WMCAT in 2025 as a video production teaching artist. As a full time creative at Carbon Stories, she has 10 years of experience in videography, photography and product/model styling. She specializes in brand, product and event storytelling and has worked with a variety of local and international brands such as Nike, Steelcase, NBA, and NFL. Check out Layah’s work!

FALL | MONDAY + WEDNESDAY
Video Production II
Eligibility: 10-12 grade GRPS students
Join a team of creative students to produce original short films! Learn to write scripts and pitch your ideas. Enhance your skills in teamwork, set etiquette, cinematography, audio, and editing while applying techniques like continuity, motivated action, composition, and pacing.
FALL | TUESDAY + THURSDAY
Video Production
Eligibility: 9-12 grade GRPS students
Get your start in video production! Discover the fundamental elements of storytelling, acting, camera technique, and sound design to bring a narrative to life. Learn how to refine your videos to perfection using industry standard programs like Adobe Premiere Pro. You’ll pair your new video skills with professional Canon camera equipment to bring your creativity to life.
SPRING | MONDAY + WEDNESDAY
Video Production II
Eligibility: 10-12 grade GRPS students
In this hands-on studio course, students will explore the art and strategy of video and content creation; from cinematic storytelling to digital-first campaigns. Through concept development, filming, and editing, students will learn how to craft stories that connect emotionally and perform across platforms. Each week combines creative exploration with technical practice. By the end of the semester, students will have built a small content portfolio, including a short film, a social-first campaign, and a collaborative final project ready for showcase.
