Jennifer VanHorssen

Design Manager, Public Agency at WMCAT

Jennifer is a human services professional who brings over fifteen years’ experience in federal/state grant management, non-profit project management, and the integration of continuous learning/improvement into programs, services and organizations to her role at WMCAT.  She enjoys the opportunity to learn and apply her skills to new settings and has worked in k-12 education (including language revitalization and advocacy), volunteer administration, workforce development, aging services, and as a contracted capacity building consultant.  After living and working on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona, she moved to Michigan with her five children (Nesbah, Hoskie, Ashkii, Ayebah and Kebah) where she now lives with her husband Hans.  Jennifer enjoys spending time with family, growing heirloom vegetables, making pottery in her home studio, and being amused by the endless talents of Winnie, her family’s corgi. Jennifer earned her bachelors in education from Northern Arizona University in 2002 with an emphasis on bilingual/bicultural education, and her Masters in Public Administration at Grand Valley State University, with an emphasis is nonprofit Leadership, in 2011.
