Zepharah Witherspoon embodies WMCAT’s multi-generational impact, putting her learning into action by integrating cybersecurity into her children’s homeschool curriculum and expanding possibilities for their futures. “I’ve been introducing them to [cybersecurity] and the fact that they’re seeing me complete this program outside of the home, shows them that [they] can do that too.”
As her skills have grown, Zepharah has started to look beyond her home to find opportunities to spread awareness of digital safety. “[Cybersecurity] is something that we really need… I have family members that [keep getting] scammed and just having all types of bad experiences. And I was like, ‘how could I be of assistance not only to my family, but to individuals and small businesses?’” Through WMCAT’s Cybersecurity Pathway, Zepharah transformed concern into in-demand skills with real community impact.
“Sometimes it’s dark because you haven’t turned the light on yet. Once you turn that light on and you see all these beautiful experiences, fresh new faces, and opportunities, you will be able to see that you are fully capable.”
Now a proud WMCAT alum, Zepharah is building a future full of opportunity, using her skills to support clients, strengthen her community, and create a safer digital world for her children and beyond.
