In the video production studio, teen artists discover the fundamental elements of storytelling, acting, camera technique and sound design to bring a narrative to life. Using industry-standard software and equipment, students team up to write and produce comedy sketches and short films.

Teaching Artist

Andy Miller

Andy Miller joined WMCAT in 2026, serving as the Video Production Teaching Artist. He is an independent, award-winning videographer and microbudget filmmaker. He’s crafted over half a dozen films and has worked extensively in the music video scene for the past 12 years. Spanning different genres and styles, Andy has created multiple arthouse projects with many artists in West Michigan, Chicago, Detroit, New York City, and Los Angeles.

SPRING | MONDAY + WEDNESDAY

Video Production II

Eligibility: 10-12 grade GRPS students

In this hands-on studio course, students will explore the art and strategy of video and content creation; from cinematic storytelling to digital-first campaigns. Through concept development, filming, and editing, students will learn how to craft stories that connect emotionally and perform across platforms. Each week combines creative exploration with technical practice. By the end of the semester, students will have built a small content portfolio, including a short film, a social-first campaign, and a collaborative final project ready for showcase.

SPRING | TUESDAY + THURSDAY
