Chelle Steffens

Chelle Steffens joined WMCAT in 2023 as development manager. Previously, Chelle worked for Kent School Services Network as a community school coordinator where he supported partnerships between the school, families, and community organizations and connecting students to necessary resources, including mental health and housing support. They have facilitated creative writing workshops for teens at the Grand Rapids Creative Youth Center and Open Doors: Center for Self-Directed Teens. He is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid and is a trained MiBridges Navigator. Chelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Knox College and is pursuing a Master of Education in Inclusion at Calvin University. His writing has been featured in various literary magazines: “Voyeurism,” short fiction, Catch Vol 45 Issue 2; “Wordsworth and the Synthesis of Time,” literary criticism The Common Room Vol 16 Issue 1; and “Excerpts from Unpacking Home,” creative nonfiction, Cellar Door Vol 10 Issue 2.
